Pacific Agriscience offers flexibility with nutrient release periods from 3 to 36 months.
As an additional service to customers, the formulations can be custom manufactured to suit clients' need with differing release periods, colours, control release mechanism, and nutrient ratios.
Pacific Agriscience’s Controlled Release Fertilizer (CRF) is a coated fertilizer granule of extremely high quality. Once the CRF is incorporated into the growing medium, it absorbs water vapor through microscopic pores on the coating.
Nutrients are then slowly dissolved and diffused into the root zone at a controlled rate. The release rate is governed by temperature and the thickness of the coating. Figure 2 illustrates the effects of temperature on the release activity. Soil water content, soil pH, and the biological activity of the soil microorganisms do not affect the efficacy of the fertilizer.
