Pacific Agriscience signs JV with SIRIUS SCIENCE CO. LTD, Japan to sell Silicon Metal and Rare

   Metals

April, 2006

A joint venture between Pacific Agriscience and Sirius Science Co. Ltd of Japan was established to sell silicon metal and rare metals, notably Indium and Tungsten, to the electronics industry in Japan. However, we are also selling silicon metal to other Japanese companies in a wide variety of industries (paint, construction and transport) to utilise the unique conductivity properties of this element. Pacific Agriscience sources the silicon and rare metals from its associated plants in China, and Sirius Science (which has an extensive network of contacts in Japanese electronic companies) markets the products in Japan. The joint venture is also currently exploring the feasibility of entering the manufacture of poly-crystalline silicon in either Singapore or Australia. Poly-crystalline silicon with purity in excess of 99.999999% is used in the manufacture of electronic circuits and solar panels. In recent years, demand for poly-crystalline silicon has outstripped supply by a very large margin because of growing demand for solar energy in the face of the rising price of oil.

Phosyn Ltd Appoints Pacific Agriscience as Agent
[York, England] January 01, 2003

Phosyn Ltd, a world leader in foliar nutrition, takes over the worldwide marketing of US-based Pace International's range of foliar fertilizers on January 01, 2003. The existing Asia Pacific agency agreement between Pace and Pacific Agriscience will be transferred to Phosyn. Phosyn has agreed to renegotiate a new agreement with Pacific Agriscience that will involve Pacific Agriscience in the sales and sales development of the Phosyn range of foliar nutrition products in the Asia region. Pace will continue to manufacture all the Leffingwell range of foliar fertilizer products at their current facility located at Wapato, Washington. Pacific Agriscience maintains an agency relationship with Pace for their remaining product lines which include snail and slug baits and post-harvest fruit cleaners and coatings.

The worldwide specialty and high-value crops that Phosyn has established itself a stronghold in may well lend themselves to an involvement in the marketing of related specialty plant health products coming out of the R & D pipelines of companies in which Pacific Agriscience has an equity stake in. The association with Phosyn hence allows Pacific Agriscience to add value to the business and strategic growth of Phosyn as well as Pacific Agriscience's investee companies such as Sotus in Thailand and Primaxa in New Zealand. (Sotus distributes the Leffingwell range of foliar fertilizers and will continue to do so under Phosyn's agreements with Pace and Pacific Agriscience). This is in line with Pacific Agriscience's corporate philosophy of adding value to the businesses of all their associates.

Equity Participation in Sirene Call Pty Ltd

[Melbourne, Australia] May 02, 2003

Pacific Agriscience accepted a board membership and 44% equity participation in Melbourne-based Sirene Call Pty Ltd (SCPL). SCPL is dedicated to marketing a patented "Attract and Kill" technology. The technology employs an insecticide and a pheromone formulated in a matrix. The product is applied through a hand-gun applicator or a roller tape dispenser. There are no chemicals to be sprayed onto crops. This significantly reduces chemical exposure for the farmers. Another major benefit of this novel technology is that chemical residues on harvested crops are almost eliminated. As the "Attract and Kill" product is specific to a given pest due to the use of one pheromone per product, its pest control power is very targeted thereby sparing all beneficial and non-targeted insects.

SCPL, in the development, sales and marketing of all "Attract and Kill" products, will benefit from the international marketing experience and distributor network of Pacific Agriscience. The equity participation in SCPL allows Pacific Agriscience to tap into yet another major technological breakthrough in sustainable agricultural science in line with its corporate philosophy set out at its inception almost five years ago.

PACIFIC AGRISCIENCE signed an exclusive distribution agreement with CIBA SPECIALTY CHEMICALS

September 01, 2001

A 5-year exclusive distribution agreement was signed between Pacific Agriscience and Ciba Specialty Chemicals today. Pacific Agriscience will develop and market Ciba's CAMPANION EW, formulation aid for oil water emulsions, in several Asia Pacific countries.

COMPANION EW polymeric surfactant products are targeted at replacing Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) formulations in the market. The advantages of COMPANION emulsions over traditional solvent-based ECs are:

  • Generally have reduced toxicity, both oral and dermal

  • More environmentally friendly

  • Less flammable

  • Safer to manufacture and use

  • Often require less expensive packaging materials

  • Can often be stored and transported more cheaply

  • Often have reduced phytotoxicity

Ciba Specialty Chemicals are very advanced in the area of polymer surfactant technologies. Pacific Agriscience has a network of technically-sound and capable cooperators, marketers and distributors in the region to jointly exploit the products and technologies.

Ciba Specialty Chemicals, headquartered in Switzerland with numerous marketing, manufacturing and R&D centres around the world, had a sales turnover of about $US 3.7 billion in 2000.

Pacific Agriscience continues to explore joint-development and exploitation of Ciba Speciality Chemicals' polymer surfactant technology for use in the formulation of certain herbicides.

PACIFIC AGRISCIENCE signed an exlcusive marketing agreement with ENVIROQUEST RESEARCH LIMITED

June 2001

An exclusive distribution and marketing agreement was signed between Pacific Agriscience and UK-based Enviroquest Research Limited. Pacific Agriscience will market Enviroquest's pesticides for timber preservation in several Asia Pacific countries.

Enviroquest's superior microemulsion have several advantages over conventional Emulsifiable Concentrate formulations used in timber treatment. These include finer particle size, solventless, deeper and higher rates of penetration of timber surfaces resulting in much more superior biological efficacy in terms of timber preservation from termite attacks as well as rotting due to fungal attacks. These microemulsions are also safer to use and more environmentally friendly.

Gearing up for organic and ECO-FRIENDLY farming

Pacific Agriscience is developing a range of plant-derived and biological crop protection products that can be certified for use in organic farming.

Cooperators and manufacturers are welcome to participate in this project which has very good growth and profit potential in the near to medium term.

Demand for organically-grown produce will continue to increase rapidly and where organic farming is not entirely feasible, eco-friendly farming methods in which minimal usage of synthetic pesticides is practised will mean an increase in demand for such natural crop protection products.

Our Current Line-Up of Products Include:

ECO-OIL

PACIFIC AGRISCIENCE signs deal to bring EDEN BIOSCIENCE's plant vacccine into Asia-Pacific

Singapore, July 2004

Pacific Agriscience has signed an exclusive deal to market Eden Bioscience's range of plant vaccines in the Asia-Pacific region and South Africa. The products are based on harpin , a naturally occurring bacterial protein present in a number of plant pathogenic bacteria. Dr. Wei Zhongmin, while in the laboratory of Dr. Steven Beer at Cornell University , discovered that harpin could elicit hypersensitive response in plants resulting in resistance to diseases, increased plant growth and crop yield. Dr. Wei is currently the Chief Scientific Officer at Eden Bioscience.

Harpin , trademarked as MESSENGER, was registered with the Environmental Protection Agency, USA in April, 2000 and market launched in the USA in the same year. It received registration and was launched in Spain this year.

Based on the harpin technology, Eden Bioscience raised over US$92 million from an initial public offering on the NASDAQ exchange in September, 2000 on top of US$30 million raised earlier from private and institutional investors.
